A radical hysterectomy is more invasive and removes surrounding tissues, the cervix, and upper vagina. This is done for advanced cancers or aggressive types. Other surgical options may include: lymph node removal to check for spread, omentectomy if cancer has spread, tumor debulking of visible tumors, and abdominal washings.
